Nursing Graduates Remain National Leaders in Professional Exam Success
The Muskegon Community College nursing graduates remained among the national leaders with their first-time pass rates on the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX) for registered nurses (RNs) and practical nurses (PNs). State of Michigan Recognizes MCC for Student Voter Registration Efforts
Muskegon Community College has been recognized by the State of Michigan as one of 34 campuses across the state for its participation in in the 2020 Michigan Collegiate Voting Challenge. “I commend you for your leadership and applaud your efforts to engage and empower your campus community to make their voices heard,” wrote Jocelyn Benson, the Michigan Secretary of State, in a March 26 letter to MCC President Dale K. 2021 Graduates Recognized with Drive-Thru Commencement on May 5
With restrictions in place to contain the coronavirus, this event will provide our deserving graduates with a fun send-off filled with pomp and circumstance. Last year’s 2020 MCC graduates will also be invited to participate in the event. A video of the event will be published online in late May 2021. Read more about this year’s commencement ceremony.
MCC Continues to Provide Safe, High-Quality Education
MCC continues to update our services to protect student and community health while providing a high quality and supported educational experience. We expanded Wi-Fi hotspots, immediate online counseling, or other services to support students and help them attain their educational goals. Reimagining a Brighter Future
To better address the evolving needs of our students and communities, MCC’s current strategic plan will conclude six months early on December 31, 2021. Over the next few months, MCC’s Implementation Advisory Team will collect suggestions for topics we should explore as we develop MCC’s 2022-27 strategic plan. Shon A. Cook Joins Board of Trustees
Shon A. Cook joined the MCC Board of Trustees earlier this year. Trustees are elected to six-year terms and are responsible for establishing and implementing policy to maintain an excellent education for all students in a safe, secure learning environment. MCC Reaccredited by HLC Through 2031
Muskegon Community College has been accredited or approved by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) since 1929. On January 29, 2021, the Higher Learning Commission reaffirmed MCC’s accreditation for another 10 years. Accreditation is important because it assures the integrity and quality of programs and enables students to obtain financial aid and veterans services. Read more about MCC’s accreditation.
Strategic Plan On Track to Meet Goals: 65 Initiatives Completed
Despite the challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic, Muskegon Community College continues to meet the goals outlined in MCC’s strategic plan, set to conclude six months early on December 31, 2021. To help meet evolving student and community needs, we expanded the plan to include 18 new objectives to support remote-working, online learning, and local health care efforts.
