Help MCC Be The Best: Provide Feedback on Proposed Strategic Plan Goals
For the past five months, 147 students, employees, and community stakeholders from 46 organizations served on five planning committees to help identify goals and objectives for MCC’s 2022-2026 Strategic Plan. The process identified three institutional priorities and ten proposed goals. The goals will be finalized based on feedback from students and community members. Lecture Series Dissects the Internet and State-Run Propaganda in China
Muskegon Community College’s Lecture Series continues Wednesday, Nov. 10, with University of Michigan Post-Doctoral Fellow Dr. Sheng Zou discussing “Entertaining Propaganda? How State-run Media in China Reinvent Themselves on Digital Platforms.” The online lecture, which is free and open to the public, begins at 6:30 p.m. Get event details.

New Jayhawk Hub Coordinator Expands Ability to Meet Student Needs
In order to better meet the emerging needs of MCC students, Maaike Mudde was recently hired to expand services in the Jayhawk Hub, a one-stop service center for students to access the food pantry and get connected with a variety of community resources. Community members are encouraged to support students by donating non-perishable foods to the Jayhawk Hub Pantry. Learn how to help students in need at www.muskegoncc.edu/student-success/jayhawk-hub.

Veterans Day Salute Set for Nov. 11
Muskegon Community College will host its Veterans Day Salute on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. by the flagpole near the main entrance to the building. Because of limited public access to the MCC campus, this year’s event is open only to MCC students and employees. Read more about how we are honoring veterans.

Free Assistance with Financial Aid Applications on Fridays
In support of institutional goal #2 to “Increase awareness of and improve systems related to financial aid, scholarships, and other funding sources,” MCC offers FAFSA Fridays, a free event for anyone to get help with completing Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
